5th Business Receives International Recognition

May 6, 2009 – 5th business is proud to announce their Honours achievement at the 19th International Astrid Awards.  With a French-language direct mail campaign crafted for NSK Canada, 5th business takes home the award for a unique and eye-catching direct mail design.

The ASTRID Awards are the industry’s premier program for the promotion of high standards or creative excellence in a variety of design categories.  5th business’ winning entry was a highly effective direct mail piece for NSK Canada’s distributors in Quebec that focused on the high quality of NSK’s bearings.

Eduardo de Abreu, Creative Director at 5th business, notes that, “Direct mail is often ignored, so we took it to the next level with an innovative concept – Only chocolate could make the bearings better. We developed a chocolate-dipped bearing image for the printed materials and website and a customized box of chocolates to be sent to select recipients to speak about superior quality of NSK’s products. We told the NSK story in a unique way, and earning an Astrid Award is a great compliment to our work.”

5th business’ client, Oswaldo Almeida, Sr. Sales Manager – Aftermarket at NSK Canada Inc. notes that, “We grabbed the attention of our French-speaking distributors with a direct mail piece that drove recipients to a customized website that offered additional product details. The goal was to inform the market of our specialized products; since we’ve seen a response rate over 100%, the project was a huge success and an Astrid Award just confirms it.”

This achievement marks the 2nd time 5th business has been singled out for an Astrid Award after being awarded a Gold placement last year in the not-for-profit category with a dynamic website created for the Victim Services of Peel.
